How too Batch Resize images

Recommended Posts

Place all images in desired directory, cd to directory.

(make sure ImageMagick is installed)

find . -name \*.jpg -exec convert -size '800x600' {} -resize '>800x600' {} \;

This will allow the server to open the images at an 800x600 size, (saving memory and speeding up the conversion, and then resize to 800x600 (second -resize)

So if you have thousands of images, some large and small, this will only re-size, according to your settings above.
