All servers have been upgraded to the following

Apache 2.2.14 & PHP 5.2.10

In addition there have been many upgrades and adjustments made as well.


The control panel has also been upgraded to use SSLv3 only, you will now be redirected to HTTPS on the exactservers domain for all control panel logins which also now has a certificate installed and working. To use the control panel type :2222 after your domain and you will be re-directed. ie: www.rhettbuck.net:2222

Cogent customers receiving service in Sacramento, Portland, and Seattle will be affected by this maintenance. Only the Cogent Order ID(s) listed above will be impacted. The purpose of this work is to perform software and hardware upgrades on core routers at key locations.

During this maintenance window, you will experience one or more brief interruptions in service while we complete the maintenance activities; the interruptions are expected to last less than 20 minutes total. However, due to the complexity of the work, your downtime may be longer. Customers may also see some reconvergence during the maintenance window.

Our network operations engineers closely monitor the work and will do everything possible to minimize any inconvenience to you. If you have any problems with your connection after this time, or if you have any questions regarding the maintenance at any point, please call Customer Support at 1-877-7-COGENT and refer to this Maintenance Ticket: NA945-14.

This might not effect any of the servers or sites due to having redundant backbone service from other carriers. If there are any issues they will be limited to less then a few seconds while the switches move to another carrier.

With the latest issues with vBulletin management and their license problems, I have decided to switch over to IPB, this will be a transition in the making over the next two weeks or so. Once this is completed and I'm happy with the performance and abilities of IPB I will then start moving over my other sites. If you are also interested in Switching to IPB, please let me know and I will include you in the transition. I will be doing a complete how too on IPB and it's features for all members. Change is tough for some people but if we include a simple step by step procedure I think all the members of the sites will enjoy IPB.
